I’m a Microbiology PhD student and NSF Extreme Biofilms National Research Trainee at Montana State University studying genomic potential and metabolic capabilities of microbes in extreme environments. My graduate research investigates applications of cold-adapted bacterial isolates for bioengineering in permafrost to stabilize infrastructure in thawing Arctic environments.
Before grad school, I spent three years with the NASA DEVELOP National Program, where I designed and managed research projects applying NASA Earth observations to environmental management decisions. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology from UNC Asheville and have studied at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA.
You can explore my research methods to see protocols and computational notebooks from my current work.
